Milsim Bomb Time Delay Probems

First off, this is not a cannon, but a time delay burst disk coaxial thing that just makes a hell of a loud noise. Basically, it is a larger version of PVC arsenal's time delay grenade:

Anyway, I drilled a hole in the end with a 1.5 mm bit, and the most consistent delay I can get is around 10 seconds.

Can anyone think of an idea to slow the air seepage into the inner chamber?

PS: I can't screw the thing out just a little when it starts, because the pressure differential between the inner and outer parts means that the inner part is pushed back, so about half way through it would push up against the screw and seal itself again.

hmm... smaller whole maybe?

A larger interior chamber would help, but not so big that your disk never bursts. That and a smaller whole like lctchamp said are the only two things I can think of.

Any pictures to show it off?

For a picture, look at PVC arsenal's grenade, and then make that out of 3 inch PVC and about 1.75 feet long, and there ya go.

A smaller hole could do it, but I'd have to make a whole new one. Do you think if I epoxy the existing hole, and then just poke a micro hole into it, will that work?

As for the size. The larger it is, the more the inner chamber will flux back and forth due to the pressure differentials, so that is not an option. I'll try the epoxy.

The epoxy should work.
