My New CO2 Tank

I was just at the local junk yard type place, and stumbled across an empty paintball CO2 tank. When I asked what how much it cost, the person (who clearly had no idea what she was talking about,) said, "Oh, I guess 50c." That made my day!
Anyways, 50c later, and I own an empty CO2 tank (20oz I think, but I could use confirmation on that,) but no equipment for it. I looked on the Home Despot website for that cheap regulator they had, but I couldn't find it. Do you have any suggestions as to where I can get one? I would really rather not buy it off of the web.
Also, to anyone who lives in the California Bay Area, do you know of a good place to fill CO2 tanks? I was thinking I would check at Atlas Welding.

Good find. I think the regulator you are talking about is at Lowes.

It has no O-ring. And They MIGHT not even fill it. Worth a shot tho. Ask them to fill it before you dump money on the Reggy.
Also, If they cant fill it, It makes a GREAT air chamber

I don't have anything specific in mind for it, I just had to jump, or lose it forever. I have been thinking about making a t-shirt cannon, and this would be perfect, but unless I get a sponsor to make it for, I probably won't get around to it, because I have no use for one. Any suggestions as to what I could do with it?
On a similar note, I know the one at Lowes is pretty good, but is it really worth it? I found a similar one at Harbor Fright for a little more than half the cost.

I heard the max pressure is only 120 psi or something like that. I would say save up and buy a palmers reg or similar.

usally, stuff at harbor frieght only lasts long enogh to get the job finished one than breaks. That is why the tools are so cheap. Were else would you get a pnematic stud nailer for under $25. Although the regulator looks Ok. I thought the Kobalt was $50 now, or was that just a black friday sale?
Also you need to get an oring. use only the white colored one. go to a paintball shop and they will fill the bottle. They will also have the orings.

Tank's out of hydro, unless it's got a more recent hydro stamp not shown in the pictures, no shop can legally fill it...
Take it to China~Mart (Wal~Mart) and exchange it for a full one for about $8.
In other words: $8.50 and you have a
brand new and
full tank!

Have you checked the expiry date? I think they need to be hydro tested every five years. My paintball store won't refill expired tanks.
I'm pretty sure it costs more to hydro test tanks than it does to buy a new one. That's probably why it was in a junk yard. I would only use it for a chamber on a gun.

i'm in the Bay Area, but i've only been paintballing a few times, there are some fields out in american canyon, but as for shops i'd try google maps

Unfortunately, that is the only date stamp...

Will that actually work? I looked on their website, but didn't see any mention of that. Maybe I should call ahead to make sure they are doing that.

Well if I use it as a chamber, are the tank threads just standard NTP, or do I need to use some sort of an adapter? I don't want to epoxy it or anything, because I want it to be changeable and all. I'm off to go open it up!
edit: ok, the foot long crescent wrench alone is not enough to take off the valve. Any suggestions? I don't have a vice big enough for it, but in the morning I could get my parents to help out, so we can have 4 hands, rater than 2.
