Any tips on making a breech loading gun?
Im building my second gun, my first one where i'm using a sprinkler valve, my first one had a ball valve. I was originally going to make it muzzle loading, but then decided to try and make it breech loading. I looked at the how-to on the poorman's breech and was working on that, but I dont have a dremel, are there any other easy ways of making a breech loading pneumatic? If so, could you direct me to a place with good instructions. Or is there anlother way to make the poorman's breech without using a dremel? Any help would be MUCH appreciated, thanks a lot in advance!

Yeah, just drill a hole big enuff for your ammo to fit in (round ammo). For ammo that isn't round, just use a saw to cut off part of the barrel (e.g. \__/).

Do you want a bolt action loader? because they can be pretty simple if you know your way around tools... and even if you do not have a dremel, you could use just simple tools.
The best approach (in my opinion, and for a 3/4 inch marble/paintball barrel) would be to attach the blowgun to a 2' section of 1 inch pvc, and then in that cut out the breech, just a large rectangle that goes down half the pipe, not length wise, but circumference wise, then just slide the 3/4 barrel into it, and add a bolt handle to it, I will have a pic up in a few minutes

well, Im using a 1/2 inch pipe for my barrel, is there any way to get some 3/4 inch pipe to fit around that snugly, but losely enough that I can move it pretty easlily. Also, my ammo of choice is 1-1 1/2 inch wooden dowels that are sharpened at the end, so they would work ok on this , but I dont think that other ammo that isnt sharpened would work as well on this because it whould have to slide over that bump from the 1/2 to 3/4 in pipe right? Also, I have 2 more questions.
1) how would you cut the breech lengthwise?
2) how would you attach the handle?

Ok, first off, Is the pipe actually 1/2 inch, or is that the label on the pipe, because with PVC, 1/2 inch pipe is actually 3/4 inch, no idea why, but I refuse to call it 1/2 inch.
To get it to fit snugly you have many options, my favourites are
1: wrap some tape around the inner barrel at key contact points, aka behind the bolt, and where the barrel meets the end of the supporting pipe, make sure to make it gradual so it can slide on and off,
2: go to your hardware store with a ring of your barrel material and find a pipe it fits inside of to your liking.
Anything that can be loaded through the muzzle can be loaded through here, you do not put the ammo in and then close it, you open the bolt, slide the ammo into the barrel, and close the bolt again, you do not make the barrel pick it up on its own.
To cut it lengthwise you could either drill holes in the corners and use a small saw, or you could take my favourite route and file it out with just a (you guessed it) file.
To attach the handle, take your barrel, drill a hole in it, insert bolt when its all together, and do not glue it or you will not be able to take it apart.

ok, well I kinda decided to do essentially what is shown on "the poorman's breech" I chose to do this because I have already bought and dry assembled the pieces for my gun, and this would be the easiest way to make it breech loading as my gun is now. Yeah, the diameters are kinda messed up, so let me restate this better. The barrel is made of pvc that has a inner diameter of 1/2 in and an outer diameter of 13/16 in (and the people who invented this stuff were supposed to be smart) 
As my cover to the breech, that is, the piece that slides over the breech I would like to use a piece of pipe with a 3/4 inch diameter inside, but, as you can tell, 3/4 in= 12/16 in, and 12/16in < 13/16 in. So all I need to do is make the inside diameter of the 3/4 inch pipe 1/16 in wider, (or a tad bit more to make the pipe slide better. Ive tried various methods of trying to get the inner diameter of that pipe bigger, but so far, they are not working like they should. I've tried taking a wooden dowel and wrapping sandpater around it and sliding it in and out and twisting it in the pipe, I tried startig with 100 grit, but then worked my way down to 80, then 60, then 50, but while they were working (to some extent) I worked for about an hour and I did little. So the I put the dowel in a power drill, but that wasn't much better, and the dowel breaking soon put a stop to that. Anyway, my question is, how can I smoothly ream out that 3/4 inch pipe to have an inner diameter of 13/16 or a bit more? Could I maybe use some 1" pipe and somehow attach some "o" rings to the ends of that? I think 3/4" sch. 200 PVC slides over 1/2". The OD of 1/2" Sch. 40 is .840", so find something with a slightly larger diameter. Calipers help.
Making a breech will be much easier with a Dremel. Trust me, it'll be one of the best purchases you'll ever make.

well, the 3/4" pipe I have does not fit over the 1/2" pipe I have, I was actually at walmart (yes, walmart, I do live south of the mason-dixon you know) for dremels with my dad, but what is the advantageof dremels of just a power drill (sorry if this is a noob question, but I have no experience with dremels). Also, is there any other method I could use that would have the same effect as using a dremel?
1. Dremels have hundreds of different attachments that can turn them into sanders, buffers, grinders, you name it!
2. You could try using files, but that will take forever and a day. Basically, no, unless you want a really crappy breech.
Also, go to your local hardware store, and pick up some 3/4" sch. 200 PVC. I guarantee it will fit. Otherwise, get some 1" sch. 40.

Also, If it REALLY must fit, Take some 3/4in Pipe and put a slit along it, And insert slivers of wood, ect, until it fits. I do this for astetic peices on my nerf guns. A little bondo and paint and theres no way people even notice!
