if i was planning on making a copper piston gun how would i get the piston to seal against the barrel because the copper has a little lip that stops the barrel from sliding all the way through to seal

Make the tee a size bigger, i.e if you were making it in a 3/4" tee, now make it in a 1" tee.

Then you just make it as normal. So if you were using a 1/2" barrel, you just use a 1" - 1/2" bushing that goes inside the tee, then you solder/epoxy the barrel into that. You may have to modify the bushing so you can push the barrel through it and into the middle of the tee.

At least that's what I think you are trying to do. If you're confused or I did interpret your post correctly, feel free to point it out :)

How it would normally fit. I'm not sure if what I explained to you helps your problem. Best wait for someone who has more experience with copper.

Your post is somewhat "less than specific". I'll take a WAG that you're referring to the lip in a tee. :)

Dremel (use a sanding drum) or otherwise (half round file and cutting fluid) remove the lip.

Piece of cake.
