Mach 10...There is a button n the top of your screen called wiki.

You will find all the answers you ever need in there.
Not to be a donkey:
A Quick Exhaust Valve is a factory made, superfast piston valve, but with less flow than most homemade piston valves.
It's really easy to use.

I understand you are new here, but we can;t have all the new guys ask the same questions over and over.

So...read up and get ready to learn...

he meant that the biggest QEVs are 1" while while the size of a homemade piston valve is limited only by your imagination (and access to tools and materails to build it)

...uhmm I just thought you might get it wrong.. sorry if it's obvious

No that's not what I meant.
A piston valve generally has the out-port further forward, so the air doesn't have to travel around a corner to get out.

Plus the piston travel of a QEV is minimal.

well what ever...
QEVs that have all that much dead space than a piston valve to be take this factor into consideration.. plus they are simply better made

They are the same, a qev is just a manufactured piston valve.

well not quite... they are of much higher quality than an average piston valve

Wait wait wait now. There are a lot of models designed with a diaphragm instead of a piston, which work less effectively. These are normally the smaller models and about any QEV made by Asco.
