As said, it depends on the power. Though with an average sized chamber at 100 psi sniper hero got 35 shots, and with a pistol you need less duration. So to answer, yes. Most likely, it will take some trial and error but you could probably get a reasonable number of shots.

By the way, sorry to threadjack but does anyone have ideas for a jig that can do a 1:30 turn (or similar, for rifling barrels)? Obviously allthread is wayyy too steep..

No if he was in Syria he'd just go buy an AK47 for $20. Seriously there's loads of places too far away from a telephone exchange to get broadband.

Don't forget with any PCP each shot will drop the pressure in your reservoir tnak. So to get consistancy you'll either have to have a big tnak, a very high pressure tnak, or a regulator, or any combination of the above. Personally I'd go for a big tnak, then a regulator with a small expansion chamber before the hammer valve.

with a hammer valve you can get plenty of shots

why not make a kind of revolver? hammer valve hit by a hammer like in a real revolver and somekind of revolving magazine

i myself made a 800 psi CO2 pcp from the blowgun and a schrader pellet gun setuphttp://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtop ... tml#225533(yes they hold up) and a small hammer plus a spring
the valve in a blowgun has exactly the same workings as the ones on commercial guns
i also own a commercial pcp, the Benjamin Discovery

well, I came up with a simple design. All it is is a chamber, 3/4" wide, 5" long. That screws into a "t" piece. That is where the valve is. The top of the "t" goes into the barrel. the only problem is triggering the hammer, the part that you push in on is at the opposite end of the grip than the trigger, hmmmmm.

do you think this shock pump would be good for charging up a pcp pistol with a 5" long 3/4" diameter chamber pcp pistol?

Don't tell me you' ve missed this:


a hammer is the easiest part.
Just two parts...hammer...and trigger.
When the hammer is cocked, the trigger blocks it.
Pull the trigger and the hammer is released.

Dude. It's as simple as you get. Main valve is a QEV. A hammer valve vents a small portion of air from the QEV. A springloaded hammer strikes the valve stem, venting some air. A sear holds back the hammer.

It's not hard. I sure hope you understand how a sear works though..

why would you even use the qev, wouldn't just havng the hammer valve work?
