OMG... the marshmellow cannon... AGAIN !! I think I've seen every single part of it and even when I close my eyes I see it :shock:

sometimes I am afraid to open the fridge for fear of finding the marshmellow gun there... :D

...now speaking of fridge... have I told you about fridge compressors ?? they are great high pressure pumps and...... :wink:

I think he might actually be asking about MY valve Tech..

The two valves are defenitly related, as mine is sort of a reversed version of yours..but I don't see why the QDV has to come up in every topic.

Maybe you got too little feedback.
We understand how it works, so few questions are asked.
It is indeed a great valve..If it were around a couple of years ago, it might have become more popular than normal piston valves..

So there!

You know, I think I speak for the crowd when I say I would greatly appreciate some diagrams and a full parts list with some instructions. If this valve works the way I hope it does, I may not need to develop my idea so I can focus on solving my bolt problems. Can't figure out for the life of me how to get the gas from the valve to the inside of a rotating blowback bolt easily. Without having to develop a valve it would make work much easier.

Hope this helps..
Just a 1/4" galvanised T..
One end holds a 1/4" fitting, other side has a threaded tube screwed inwards.This too could be an ordinary fitting.
(The inside diameter of the right side must be slightly larger than or possibly equal to the sealing surface on the left.The closer you get the two , the easier it will be to push open at high pressures.
In the case of equal surface areas sealing will all be up to the counter spring..)


Through this runs a threaded rod.On the rod I created a pump-head with two rounded (and sized with improvised lathe )nuts and an O ring in the middle.
The O-ring is slightly larger than the inside of the smooth pipe it slides in, so it seals.( floating-O-ring)

On the other side another O-ring is held in place by 1 nut.This acts like the valve stem in a schrader, or as a poppet valve if you will.
However..it seals from the outside IN.
The slightly larger piston created the force needed to keep the oppposite side shut.

A spring on the inside of the Tee pushes the piston side ( on the right) away from the 1/4" fitting, on the left.
On the left side the 1/4" fitting has a 1/4"-1/2" reducer ring..so , when connected to a barrel, air has enough room to pass the poppet nut.


Parts list:
1 threaded rod
1 Tee ( of any size !)
2 nipples/fittings ( as long as the fit onto the Tee., smooth inside!)
1 reducing ring ( optional, on barrel side)
2 regular nuts, lathed to size
1 capnut, also lathed down, as the actual push button
1 spring
2 O-rings.
And some telfon tape ofcourse.

Does it vent ALL the air in the chamber?

Nope..it acts the same as a blowgun or hammer valve,

I got 10 shots out of it using the hose volume of my fridgy only!
( at 40 bar, tapping it softly with a hammer)

so from your pic I take it as a "big schrader valve" (for lack of a better term) I like the idea. I want to incorperate that into my next rifle. :P
