UGH this is why we should just put in caps lock tell him he has a bad idea and lock the topic, so many minutes were wasted trying to argue with ago, I hate it when peole come and ask for advice then they dont like the advice and argue you're wrong. if you dont like what we say, the gtfo!

Ive used 12v compressors before. I made a super simple ball valve gun with a chamber about 200mm x 25mm. I could take it up to 100 - 110psi and it really struggled at the end. It was a lot of fun, and it worked. But just doing it you could tell the pump was suffering and I was expecting it to break. I was using a slightly better 12v compressor, the cheap plastic run for about $10 Australian, I paid $60 for the one I was using, it was slightly more robust. It held up ok for the couple of dozen shots I put through the spudgun, but I could tell it was struggling and it got fairly hot.
It eventually died pumping up a tire on my ute. I made it work again by bypassing the switch and reversing the polarity and running it "backward" for a minute to unstuck the piston, but I wouldnt trust it for emergency use anymore so it sits on the workbench and occasionally gets used for dusting. Other than the few shots in my parts gun it really didnt see a lot of use before failure. But then I expected that when I used it on the gun.
So yeah - you can use them, they really arent great and will break eventually, but 6 bucks is worth trying, Id imagine that they would work just fine if you were only taking the pressure of a small chamber up to say 30-35psi - tire pressures, and if you let it cool down a lot between shots. So if your just after a fun toy they might do the job for you, if your after power, or frequent shots buy a cheap shop compressor, or listen to Poland_Spud and get a fridge compressor.

This thread is to discuss the item in the link. I like the 2 stage design a lot. I've been wondering if it can be made into a coaxial pump. First stage on the outside of the second stage. This would simplify the torque problems of driving two cylinders where the force changes between them as the pressure builds.

As far as arguing with fools.. Don't bother. You won't ever convince them. I've lost plenty of arguments to fools. I let them win, and then I do things my way. They did it their way. This includes free energy with over unity magnet motors, cow magnets on the carburetor (1970's version of browns gas) and high power high reliability 12 volt auto inflators for high pressure spud gun use.

We can only share our experiences with tire inflator compressors and offer them great deals on slightly used compressors. I have one for free if you want to swing by and pick it up. I have no further use for it. I won't call it rubbish. It might not be. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I will be needing a high pressure pump for my next cannon. I'm collecting ideas. I like the 2 stage pump. :cheers:
