I drilled the fckuk outta the tirgger valve and it fires
Probably drilled too much and damaged the seals if you didn't clean up the holes after drilling or made the hole too big for the blowgun to seal.

If it honks, that usually means you're pilot valve is too small, your chamber is too small or you're running at a low pressure, i.e 30PSI. That's when I usually find valves honk.

Yes, there ARE easy to operate valves out there that will handle the pressure and flow you need. And they're not prohibitively expensive.

They're called lever-arm globe valves, and McMaster-Carr has them in brass that will handle up to 400psi.

haha, 37 is a bit pricey for my taste.

I tried a different trigger valve and still no luck!

my pvc goes from a 2 inch chamber to a 1inch sprinkler valve, is that causing problems?

The finger still works, dunno why trigger valves wont. Is there such thing as a super high flow blowgun?

Im all out of ideas... :cry:

Did you take in to account what D_Hall said? That you're threading the blowgun in too far and stopping the valve from fully unseating.

well, ive attempted to change the heights to see if there is any difference, i will fool around with a bit more later and report back. :)

Just wondering does the blow gun your using have one of those black rubber "safty tips" on it? Because if it does, TAKE IT OFF! Those things restrick major amounts of air. I avoid those even for shop use because of that.

nope, no restrictors, orings but thats all. I have no clue why twisting it otu fast works but pressing it doesnt.

Do you guys think the use of propane is chilling the diaphram so much that it's causing this problem?

Most of the cannons here that use propane are piston valves (that I can think of) there for not being as much in contact with the gas as a cannon that uses a sprinkler valve as the main valve....you following me?

Try using just air. If you can't get the sprinkler to seal with a air pump, use only enough propane to seal the valve, then use air to fill your chamber the rest of the way. I'm thinking this might be the differance with your cannon.

The propane chilling the diagram is not it.I use propane with my modded sprinkler and it still works fine.

mm, i left the 1 inch nozzle on min, but i drilled into it makin a bigger hole. Il try taking the nozzle off the one i have now later :)

Same here, I fill a large 1.5" chamber through a fitting that came with a Husky blow nozzle (brass with rubber cone, cut the rubber off, cut the smaller diameter brass threads off,
drop of super-glue inside a clear "fix-a-flat" can hose,
small hose clamp around the hose,
thread it onto shrader,
other side to propane torch valve with torch pipe removed)...

Was working great,(for a while, it's starting to leak...guess I'll get another empty fix-o-flat can)...
Some ice forms on the fix-a-flat hose, sometimes
I even invert the LP getting liquid in the line and chamber,
and sometimes just leave the valve open.
Smells like 1000 farts when it shoots though.

...if there was a cheap and easy to operate valve other than ball valve everyone would be using it...
Been noticing (at Harbor Freight, and a truck stop),
a gauge that holds pressure in line and is released out through a tiny push button valve...(not sure if the HF one holds or is for bleeding pressure) But they're around $10 or less and a possible combination pilot and gauge!!! 8)

Yikes! (Wow!) Dewey, nice launcher pics!
Those blowers have gauges included too,
MrC. and others have used that type before.
BTW, in the pic, the gauge is removed, but IF it were still in place it would read chamber pressure it seems (?)

The one I've been noticing has a little tiny push button on the side of a gauge and hose.
Not very large pilot volume, but interesting for testing is all... 8)

Not in any of the pictures!
I use the HF flow control for filling and pressure monitoring.
The gauge that comes with the inflators is to damn big!

In the "Fill & Fire" QEV drawing it could be used!
I prefer the smaller gauges because they look more proportional to the launchers.
