i was going to make a new piston for my valve ( hot glue piston now and going for bolt with washers on it with few nuts)

ok well instead of grinding the hex off of the hose (not house ) barb and forcing to make new threads on it backwards and messing up the threads already there....

would using a flare fitting work just as well cause of the weird end on it

You mean you want to use that part as the porting, where the piston seals against? It would do fine, but how is the inner diameter compared to the one of your barrel?

very poorly in id is like i can stick a 6mm alen key thing in it hand have little room move around

but the same size hose barb im using now is like very small half the size of the flare fitting so would the flare fitting work? at all or is it a waste of time

Why not use reducing bushing lets say its a 1/2 Tee and you screw a 1/2 to 1/4 brass bushing but im not sure because dosent it need to have a little bit of air in front to push the back?

qwerty yes it needs somehair infront of it and there a part inside the brass bushing that only lets me screw in the part half way..... and for me i have no tools... so ya..

for psycix im tring to ask will that link to a picture of a flare fitting
the end is shaved down i would say ...im asking is that enough room for air so the piston can be pushed back
