I figure Ill just post all my cannons here instead of posting a new one every time i make one! in order of creation.

Everyones favorite the 2 piece spray can combustion (i know this is the air cannon section all my others are compressed air and i dont want any crap about it being abs)
Image

SPECS:
Barrel:4' of 2" ABS
Chamber:2'of 3" ABS
Igniter: Standard BBQ Lighter
And at the base of the barrel is a ring of duct tape thats covering a screw that i but in to keep spuds from going to far when loaded

Second Up is my paint cannon, it went through a lot of working reworking and tips from various Site vets
Image

SPECS:
Barrel:2' of 3/4" SCH 40 PVC
Chamber:2' of 1" SCH 40 PVC
Valve:Rainbird 100-DV Sprinkler Valve (havent gotten around to epoxying the solenoid)

Third is my dart sniper which once was a part of my paint cannon
Image

SPECS:
Barrel:A 3' Blow Gun tube taped to fit in a piece of 3/4" PVC
Chamber:34" of 1" SCH 40 PVC
Valve:Standard Orbit 1" Sprinkler Valve

Fourth is my GB cannon off of Mr Crowleys Instructiable found here
http://www.instructables.com/id/Golfbal ... That-Shoo/

Piston:

SPECS:
Barrel: 5' of 1 1/2" SDR 21
Chamber: 58" of 2" SCH 40 PVC
Valve: 2" Piston Valve, Wooden Piston 3" long(Still want to replace it)
At 50 PSI
FPS(GGDT):370
FT*LB(GGDT):208.2
Yardage: ??? havent ever found the round

Fifth the one i made with scraps laying around
Image

SPECS:
Barrel: 2' of 1/2" SCH 40 PVC
Chamber: 1' 6'' of 1" SCH 40 PVC
Valve: 1" Piston Valve, Duct tape piston with a wooden core, no bumper still working out the kinks on this piston, seems to work well, not sure im getting a full release of my chamber through the barrel, could be the lack of a bumper, will have to test tomorrow when i can use the air compressor

Thats all of them for now, ill post more info on each one as i learn new things about them

nice wrk man , ha that combustion chamber is huge . geeze you would think with soo much pvc with the launcher u r holding in the photo it would be farely heavy. BTW how m,uch distance can you get out of the
combustion

That looks like a fine set of cannons.
Got any ideas what to build next?

I won't give you crap about the ABS, but I will tell you about the evil DWV bell reducer you used. Socket depth is very shallow.

BTW, cute cat.

He's going to cut down the chamber of his golfball cannon to less than half its current size and make a phantom launcher ;)

yea im working on making the golf ball cannon quieter my landlord doesnt like the sound of it lol as well as a clip system, ive been thinking of a peice of golf ball barrel with a cap and a spring attached to a ball valve with a hole in the side, or maybe a T ball valve if such a creature exists
EDIT: and now that i think about it i might add a female adapter to the chamber to right about where the straight section is and make it so i can find the optimum length for my barrel/chamber

Ive only fired it a few times and only gotten about 200 feet out of it, using spray paint

it says sch 40 on the fitting, in any case i dont use it hardly ever, the air cannons i build are much more fun, faster reload and a lot more power

Or could download and install Gas Gun Design Tool and model your launcher virtually, saving yourself a lot of time and PVC ;)

yea i use that a lot ive got it open now, if i take my chamber down to 30" i only lose about 50 fps and Ftlbs, and the chamber optimizer says 20 3/4" is my best bet, but sometimes i like the loud noise so id like to be able to change my chamber back
with that chamber id be looking at 117 ft lbs and 278 fps

Update!:
Got it down to 21" and some change, added threaded fittings on both sides so i can put the old pieces back on it i want to, barrel with silencer gives(according to GGDT, i dont have a crony) 321.2 Ft*lb and 460 FPS so im totally fine with that will post a pic in a sec

I say your tanks are all too big. That maintains power for the shot, but with a smaller tank, say metal, you can fill up a lot faster and go higher pressure.

Every time I think about it, I want to get out to my mom's and (re)build it (drill press and an acre with a hill for backdrop.)

(Edit: Noticed in another thread about bringing down the chamber size, forgot at the time where I said this.)

yea ive brought the size down on the GB cannon quite a bit as well as added a on board compressor

Ho i would like to know how did you managed to mod the 100-DV valve?? The bleed screw is not aligned, would this make a problem??? Or i only have to remove that srew and put the blow gun?
