blowgun recommendation

I am running about 450 psi and I may go to 600 psi.

The 3/8 ball valve is too slow.

What blowgun would hold this pressure and have a good trigger action?

Who sells it?

Thanks,

a blowgun won't be faster than 3/8" bv... so I don't think it's a problem with the pilot valve but with the piston valve

OK

It is difficult to ferret out the problem.

I opened the valve much too slow for one shot and a lot of air came out of the pilot.

There are several things to try:

>Tighten the piston seal.

>Spring load the valve.

Juging from the Airgunman's 10 psi Schrader valve operation, my piston cannot compare.

I believe that if a piston will pop with just a Schrader valve and a nail, it is a sign of an excellent design.

OTOH a trigger blow gun is comfortable to use.

Why do some folks use sprinkler valves for their pilots?

What is the benefit of using both a sprinkler and a blow gun?

I am getting there in small steps.

(I ordered some phototransistors for a homemade chronograph.)

probably there is too much blowby

of course you could use a QEV to assist piloting.. but then the question is - Why didn't you use a QEV in the first place?

Better pilot valve, opens fast.

The blowgun is a pilot valve for the sprinkler, which dumps the sprinklers pilot volume way faster then the solenoid.

What pressure will a sprinkler + blowgun hold?

I've found most blowguns are good for 300-400 psi, sprinkler valves are usually rated to 145 psi or so, it doesn't mean that they'll explode at 150 but if you want to go much higher you're better off using a metal bodied QEV.
