ok this is my idea for my bolt system

can you point out some flaws and how i can fix them btw i want it to stay as much like this as possible . I want a bolt action that resembles AWP ,L96, Arctic Warfare or whatever its real name is .... lol

Image

an air rifle that i envy that has a similar bolt action like what im trying to achieve is the daystate airwolf (check out its bolt system )

looks fine, the bolt needs to lock though, don't want it shooting out.
It does limit your projectile length though.

yes i forgot to add that in the pic it was just going to be extended piece of barrel coming out of the back tee and a line cut into it for the bolt to lock into ummm i was going just for shooting .22 pellets would this be alright?

an why does it limit the length ?

and if i made the hole bigger it would increase airflow but the pellet would fall in the hole (... if you understand?) how could i prevent this and maximize airflow?

You could either cut several holes or one long one, just make sure what ever you cut is smaller than your ammo!

Wow that’s a super idea!! Just a quick question, if the air has to make a 90* turn will that decrease its speed? Or in any way lower the final velocity of the round?

A suggestion.

EDIT:
There is an error in the design... In this state the bolt handle should be in the L-slot. So the bolt length is wrong.
I'm not feeling like editing the pic so just take note.

just had an idea (duck for cover), you could make a clip at the back so it is a bit more like a "shell-les" bolt action rifle.
also i agree with it needing a bolt lock, because chances are that it will blow out

The danger with that is that, when using pellets, like previously stated, there is a chance the spring pushes not one, but two projectiles into the barrel. Also, in most cases you need to re-fill the gun anyway, reloading ammo is the least of your worries...

When using slugs and a direct connection to a compressor or large tank then this is a valid option.

Wait...are you trying to make your version of my " Old Shatterhand"??

Seems it has everything you need..exept the mag feed from the bottom.

It has the same Tee-bolt and I can assure you, it is very powerfull despite the 90 turn and slightly smaller port to the barrel.

Cilindrical ammo will not double feed when fed from the bottom up to the back of the Tee...
In fact, it is a sure way of preventing it.

A square type magazine is much easier to make than a drum too..

very nice design, I wish this was here before because this seems like it would work very well on my L96 sniper...

btw. if you were to make a detachable clip how would you prevent the ammo from flying out the magazine when its not in the gun?
my guess is feed lips but if you add feed lips then it would be a little tricky to load them like shown in the schematics because the ammo wouldn't go up and stop at the top of the bolt. seems like it would be easier to have an integral clip and load the ammo from the side and eject empty casings (if there would be any) from the same port.

you could use a piece of pvc or metal pipe that fits inside the bolt and inside the mag. put your bullet inside the pipe for instance a dart. load a few of those pipes into the mag. insert the mag into the rifle, feed the pipe into the bolt, bolt pushes the dart out of the pipe and into the chamber and after firing eject the empty pipe (empty casing).

good luck with your idea

You can make your ammo by getting the right sized drill bit and drilling a hole into a chunk of metal of the right length. Saw it in half. Using a vice of some sort hold it together, pour lead, or a wax and metal balls cobo in there, let it cool, undo the vice and tada!

As for the mag; drill two holes at the end across from each other so they are from left to right if you put the mag in the gun(so on the thinner part of the mag). After you loaded your ammo stick a piece of metal(say a piece of those rods used for welding, or any not too soft piece of metal, not wire) through both the holes. When your mag is in the gun, give it a yank and the gun is redy to fire.

Anything else?
