Piston Face

For my new piston valve Ive been talking about for a while, in which the piston slides in the bush I had a couple of ideas about the piston face. Will the piston work ok is its the same width as the ID of the bushing or do I need to add a washer that fits perfectly in the tee. I was afraid if the washer fit in the tee perfectly the air behind it would equal the air in front of it and it wouldnt move.

I would go with the smaller one because if it the same ID as the tee then it will rub on the little grooves and stuff because the inside of the tee isn't perfectly straight, so it may not seal perfectly.

Every thing is straight its just the pics, I did a bad job drawing it, but im just worried it wont pilot

Nah... in the pics it's straight but not in the actual tee. there are angles and edges that might abstruct the path of the washer and cause it to actaully open slower. The piston will pilot fine without the larger washer, have a look at mine. The OD of the piston is the same as the ID of the seat, and it works. (Quite well, if I do say so myself :D )

Oh ok, well if i were you I would go without the big washer, rather the smaller one. wonder if anyone else will reply with another opinion...

yeah I hope they do, I might get both and start with the smaller one and if that doesnt work I can always adjust it
