I just got my 3/4" QEV in the mail today!
I would like to use it for multiple cannon systems, everything from a golfball gun to a semi automatic paintball gun. I know it can take high pressures, but ATM i can only take it up to 200psi max unless I want to pump for hours with my shock pump.
So my question is, at equal pressures and equal chamber and barrel size; which will perform better, my super modded 200psi capable 1" sprinkler valve, or my new 3/4" QEV.
Please have numbers or experiences to back up your answers, unfortunately, I cannot download GGDT on my mac so i cannot plug in any numbers myself

This is difficult to answer. It boils down to dead space, speed, and ability to flow at various velocities.

The QEV has the least dead space and is the quickest.

The QEV has fewer bends and turns for better flow at high velocities, but this is offset by the smaller size. For smaller barrels the QEV is a better choice for 1/2 inch and smaller barrels. The sprinkler is better for larger diameters and heavier projectiles due to the slower flow pushing heavy projectiles.

The sprinkler is at a disadvantage with small lightweight projectiles. Honking and other early closing ills can impact the performance along with a larger internal dead space. They work well for big projectiles. Use a sprinkler on a 1 inch or larger barrel.

I do a decent job launching tennis balls and t shirts from my 1 inch valve launcher with a 3 foot 2.5 inch barrel. A slightly slower valve with higher flow works well for this.

This launcher tosses rolled up t shirts 200 feet into stands at 100 PSI. It has a 1 inch valve. A little dead space in a sprinkler valve is of little importance with this size barrel.

On the other hand, shattering open pop cans with marshmallows does require little dead space and best possible speed to fully open.

I don't have the numbers, but for paintball, 1 vote for the QEV. Golfballs, is 1 vote for the sprinkler. Missing option with only one vote is It Depends.
