Don't get me wrong, I love your handle and the mechanism behind it but the overall appearance of the cane gun doesn't really look like a cane. In order to make it look like one you need to sacrifice some of the barrel length. Maybe you should also sleeve the barrel into some bigger diameter pipe, it looks far to fragile to be used a real cane.

Now that you have put so much time into the great handle it would be a shame if you didn't finish the project to its full "stealthy" potential.

yea i know its a bit long but i really only made it for the power that would come with such a long barrel the cane part is just an extra really, as for sleeving it has already been done before the vid, here is another vid and some pics

can it actually function as a cane?
What i mean to say is, could it reasonably be expected to support someone's weight? It looks pretty thin...

It looks beautiful, and I'm quite surprised how good plywood can look with a sanding and a stain, excellent job.

Awesome! I love how clean of a look it has. I'm agreeing with others though, it looks a bit thin to convince anyone that it's a regular cane.

I would try to somehow encase it in wood. Right now it looks a bit like a putter :P .

Or even just putting it inside something like this (I think those are hollow) would be much sneakier.

Awesome workmanship, it may not look exactly like a cane, but I give it two thumbs up.

really the only part of this that is letting it down in strength would be the handle, there is no doubt in my mind that if you put your full weight on the end of that handle it would damage it somehow but if your careful and put your weight directly above the shaft then i am pretty confident that it could function... if you tall enough to need a cane this long...

sure they might think it looks a little funny but theres nothing to convince them its a gun, but really i doubt i will ever take it out in the public anyway

if i was to get one of those i would take full advantage of its size and make a large bore, but then i would have to come up with a trigger mec. for it to

Nicely finished, it's almost begging for a coaxial suppressor though...

Not one to break tradition, are you JSR?
It would probably be easier to conceal a suppressor inside of those 1" wide aluminum canes, being wider, it's entire volume could serve as expansion space
Also, ILoveFire, you keep saying the cane is pretty long, exactly what is it's total length?

thank you, yes well i was thinking of testing it with a quickly made one just to see what the noise diference is then maybe i might consider making a custom one for it

yes that could work quit well actually, ill see how i go with the tests, but the handle dosnt really accommodate for a larger shaft :(
linuxexorcist wrote:Also, ILoveFire, you keep saying the cane is pretty long, exactly what is it's total length?
the whole cane is 103cm long which is about 23cm to long for me, also the barrel is 90cm long

anyone like to put that though GGDT for me? camber 8mm, barrel OD 6.5mm, ID 5mm, pressure 400psi, ammo is .177 pellet, would be great if someone could i really want to know what this think is is shooting at, thanks!

also i am thinking of making a pistol grip for it for ease of use, will probable put the cane handle out of use but that was just more of a novelty really

Coaxial suppressors eat muzzle blast and pleasantly thicken skinny barrels/chambers, no reason not to keep on recommending them ;)

Interesting hammer valve design, the full publication can be downloaded as a torrent, look for "walking stick air gun".
