Hammervalve question

Hi guys, I'm back with another idea for a hammer valve:

Or maybe not even a hammer, but pushbutton first.

If you have a pipe with a tee at the end, the other going into the chamber and insert a screw with washer and seal in it, it will be really hard to push at high pressures, won't it?

But if you had the sealing part instead of a washer a conical design or like a bullet, there would be nearly no force applied to it, or am I wrong?
Nobody has ever tried such a cone, at least as far as I know, so I might have missunderstood something here?

In that case, yes, you're wrong.

No matter what shape you put on the bolt, air resistance will be the same.

If you want zero air pressure on the bolt, it needs to be balanced, like a spool valve.

Oh nice, thank you for that! Thats what I originally had planned, but some guys here said it wouldn't work^^

Edit: That would be pressable with a finger, no?

Yes, all you would have to do is overcome the o-ring friction.

Funny thing, I was faster in searching than the grandmaster ;)

Nice, that gives a nice option for a trigger, cause I'm planning to build a underlever with a real underbarrel magazine, so the Air has to be stored in the back, so I can simply presss the trigger from the front. Nice, thanks a lot

My push-button valve uses 1 O-ring and a flat washer.
This will generally mean less wear..

But the principle is to balance the two sides out so...that's basically the same.

But there is a downside to balancing out the valve: It won't be self-regulating anymore.

A normal hammer valve gets easier to open as the pressure drops, so it will open further or longer, wich means more gas can pass, wich in turn means the performance doesn't drop as much as it would with a balanced valve.

However, this is all relative to hammer weight, spring tension etc..
It can be a way of getting more consistent shots, if you get it all just right.

This is only important on a multi-shot cannon ofcourse...
