Airsoft sniper. I know I have been saying I might make one, but this time, I really am. Hopefully either tonight or tomorrow my dad will buy the qev off of ebay, and I will be able to start putting together my barrel and magazine. I will need to figure out a place for my air tank to go, it will be a fire extinguisher, and I need some help deciding whether I should put a hose and connect it to the qev that way, or use a ****load of fittings. My price limit unfortunately is $30. 20 goes to the qev, the rest goes to the fittings and barrel. If you have any suggestions on the air tank, and ways to hide the barrel and make it look normal on a mauser rifle, that would be helpful!

Use pvc for your aesthetic coverings. It's cheap and easy to work with.

I would use pvc to get a rough shape, then use bondo to finish out the detail.

30$ for a complete airsoft "sniper" is optimistic to say the least. I reccomend you invest in some pourable epoxy in order to make some of your own parts.

As for the placement of the air tank, I'd either put it as a stock, or atatched under the grip like a paintball gun.

Locked, I am not really going for power, more just to see if I can do it. I don't really need much, I have most of it planned out as well. I was thinking the air tank under the barrel, like an over under, and then have a bipod in front of it?

Clemson, I can't even trust my self with epoxy, so unless bondo is like putty its gonna look like s**t.

Gade, I was thinking pvc aesthetics, its easy to work with, and I have alot of it around.

Bondo is a body repair putty. It spreads with a putty knife.

I would stick with PVC however. Just build up your barrel shroud, mock receiver, and account for any details with pvc bits glued on or cut out etc.

What mock receiver? For a mauser?

My airsoft sniper looks good, A lot of people on youtube liked it :) and shoots a lot with 500 psi without a visible chamber :D as it´s a co-axial. I made the main body part out od pvc the rest with fiberglass, It cost me 1 week to make and more than 50 euros. For a decent gun 30 isn´t enough, I think, as I´m not a american. If you are interessted I can send you a link of my sniper.

I think your best option would be to put the tank in the stock as this is convenient and it keeps your gun compact.
As for the bodywork PVC is the best you just have to do a quick search to see what it can achieve.
PVC looks great, can be painted, shaped, stretched, and best of all your gun be both lighter and more easily field strip-able as unlike putty it has spaces in between the mech and outer layers, and therefor can be easily (if built properly!!) removed. :D

PVC is probably the most versatile building material. I won't link my M16 though
As for your budget, I agree with the rest... its optimistic to say the least. I spent 35 on just a barrel. If you ain't gonna fork out some money, you won't be calling it a "sniper". :D

Considering I can get most of the supplies free, the 30 is really only going to buy the valve. The rest I have, and the barrel I can get free. So its not a big deal. I really only need to figure out the best spot to mount the FE.

I would use the chamber as a stock and personaly I wouldn't waste an FE on a chamber for an airsoft gun... its like >9 thousand times too big...

Which means more shots. I need the chamber to last for a hour without emptying, which is why I am using a FE for a airsoft gun.

So you have a way to modify the QEV or you are going to buy a 3 way valve?

What do you mean modify? I don't need to modify it in any way. Its going to use a blow gun for the pilot, and I know its going to restrict airflow, but it does not matter for airsoft, a tube to connect the FE to the qev.
