If you screw out the brass screw with the hole in it seen on pic 4, it exposes a VERY thick brass spring. You can't compress it with your fingers.

I did some searching, the closest thing i could come up with is that its some sort of radiator valve?

looks like a pressure reducing valve (regulator)

I was thinking something similar too. I just don't get why it has 4 ports. Of which 3 of them allow airflow.

I think I'm gonna take it apart, if it is a regulator, it has very little spudding use to me anyway.

The very thick spring may be bi-metalic. It looks like a tempering valve. They are used in larger buildings with hot water heat. The water boiler temperature is too hot to feed to a sink. They take really hot water on one side and cold water on the other and the output feeds a sink or shower so the outlet temperature stays near 130 degrees F instead of over 200.

The adjustment is the temperature setting.

Tempering valve Google it.

It looks to me like a regulator for a furnace and or a hot water heater. P M Mr. Crowley and ask him. He seems to know everything about anything!!

I'm sure you'll find a use for it sooner or later! I know I could use one right now! :D
