After looking on the forum, I was unable to find a how to about wireless solenoid valve trigger system. I saw the way to use a key fob but I was wanting to build one with a key switch and fire button. Anyone have a link or info? Valve is 12V. Thanks

uhmm

get a remote control module for garage doors (one with a relay), hook it up to a solenoid valve, put a key switch somewhere on the gun

done

Saw a few pics of control boxes that people installed key switches in and push buttons. Didn't know where to buy supplies. Wanted it to look nicer than a garage opener.

well if you don't know how to do it yourself then a garage door opener is really a better option

no need to solder anything, most modules have relays already installed you just attach wires to connectors and that's it

plus you don't really need a key switch on the remote control but it would be a good idea to have one on the gun or at least just a toggle switch

Was hoping someone would know a link with instructions and I could build it myself. Do you know where I could find directions.

google.com
:D

it isn't very complicated... you get both the transimiter and a receiver, find their datasheet to understand how to wire them, wire them and it's done

but once again if you don't know how to add a key switch to the circuit then it would be a lot easier (and cheaper) to just get a RF module and remote for a garage door opener

I personally would not be in favour of this for safety reasons, there's so many signals flying around these days that the likelyhood of unintentional firing due to another source is not that remote - no pun intended.

Is there a reason why you need it to be wireless?

I just wanted to for safety reason. Plus thought it would be pretty cool feature. I might go with the simple key fob idea. I saw some images of people having a key switch and then fire button, but having no electrical knowledge I might go to a eletrical supply store and see if they could help. Figured if I went with key fob or like device it would have a specific signal that would minimize risk of accidental fire.

The safest way would be to have wires, and a funky arming switch like this one.

I found this wireless unit on eBay.

I imagine the circuit would be something like this:

Here's a thought.

Buy a cheap car alarm and central locking system.

Ditch the solenoid valve and replace with a blowgun.

Use the immobiliser in the car alarm as a master power on / safety.

Use one of the central locking servo's to activate the blowgun via the secondary channel on the alarm.

Add a 12v battery and safely activate your cannon with a digitally secure signal from half a mile away.

Well, how about you read the entire thread for that before commenting? Did you not see that he stated that you can simply use a dremel and cut off the one part that triggers the solenoid, put it in a cell phone and done?
