In order to make it adjustable, I suggest using a locking collar on the piston shaft. If you've ever messed with VEX robotics kits, you'll know what I'm talking about. (I'm not a huge fan, just figured I'd try to find common ground.) Anyways, that way you could adjust how tightly the spring was compressed before the sear is locked. However, the collar does take up some space, so you'd have to adjust your design accordingly.

EDIT: Oops, shame on me for not seeing the rest of the posts.... I guess that's what I get for posting when I'm so tired.

The only adjustment necessary is a screw to adjust the spring tension, hammer weight can be compensate by spring strength.

My spring tension can't be adjusted :? But I don't know if that will be completely necessary. I'm beginning to think the hammer I made was a fail, and I might make another one. This time combining everything I learned from the first one. I know for a fact that it is nowhere near strong enough and adding more springs is a big pain. But I already have the stuff I need to finish it so I might as well try to. But if it doesn't work out, I'll either make a new one or use the flare gun.

Parts should arrive tomorrow from McMaster :D

I didnĀ“t like this way from the beginning
I used a rotaing hammer because even with a weak spring, I can get enough energy to open the valve, by manipulate the point of application of the spring force.

Yeah, that makes sense. But the way my hammer is designed doesn't allow me to manipulate anything at this stage, which sucks, because I spent so much time on it. But I'm willing to make a new one that will work well.

LnL, you never told me this valve was Clippard :D
McMaster charges 4 more dollars but Clippard shipping is outrageous so I'm pretty psyched about having the valve. It is good quality...

Just need to go grab some copper pipe and I'll be done except for the hammer. :D

Does it work as well as you hoped? I hope I didn't lead you astray...

Please, hook it up to an air source and make a video. Looks good so far, now lets see the hammer. *two thumbs up*

LnL, we'll find out in a few days, maybe even today if I can get out to home depot. But initial tests hooked up to the air compressor seem promising. It better work as well as you say :D

Warhead, hammer is disassembled because I'm adding springs. No need for a video at this stage, but pretty soon I will.

If I were you I would used a smaller pressure gauge, there are some paintball gauges that are very compact.

Yeah this gauge sticks out more than I wanted it to... :?

This one looks good, but not much more compact than the one I have... I dunno. I can't buy from ebay anyway.

I should have just bought the 600 psi gauge from McMaster...
I don't intend on going over 400 though.

Chamber (huge, I might call it) ready to solder.

I'm thinking it might be too big. For my floor pump, no, but if I get a shock pump there is no way I'm taking this thing up to 400. If my fridgy can do it though, that would be sick. I'm trying to maximize the amount of shots I can get out of it. What do y'all think?

Well for me pcps aren't fun without high pressure, my fridge compressor got up to 1000, so I chooses a relatively small chamber, easier to hide inside the stock. I charged my hammer valve gun once to 300 psi with my shock pump, 100 pumps! And the power sucks.
