ummmmmmmmm, yes. You should have been a rocket scientist!! :toothy10: @ jsefcik, how can you tell the kid to drill and tap a schrader valve if you do not even know what kind of cannon he is building??? :sign6: :sign6:

You'll want to drain it completely before putting any sort of drill bit/ cutting edge to it, thats what id do anyway, i need my hands and face.

I think people find a way to fill them with water before drilling in to them, perhaps you can depress the valve and submerge it in a bath. I'd try that before ever drilling in to it.

Use a schrader wrench and remove the cores of both the over pressure valve and main valve. Use an air compressor to purge the tank with air, With the gas blown out, it may be drilled larger.

I did this on a cannon using a propane tank.
Even was safe to weld with an air supply to blow out fumes and prevent a dangerous build up due to heating.

Do as Tech suggests. :)

Have drilled one out to 7/16" and tapped it for 1/4" npt...works well enough. :)

lol I see you have problems with reading comprehension

release all the gas left
remove cores from both the over pressure valve and main valve...
once that's done whatever you blow into the tank through one of them goes out through the other one
