ive seen the springs taken out of modified sprinkler valve !

is this true that removing the spring from a modified sprinkler valve will improve the performance

I was only messin with you. It depends on the valve and the cannon if its better to remove the spring or not. some work better with it and some work better without it.

Should depend on whether or not there is a guide rod in the valve body. yes i also support experimenting, but hey he's only new, We'll point him in the right direction

It helps to relocate the diaphragm to its seat,without it the diaphragm can actually get "stuck" on the side of the seat and the wall requiring the chamber to be removed and the diaphragm manual seated(very annoying) so the chamber is sealed,sealing also becomes an issue with the spring removed as the air equalization can be temperamental.
