I have got the use of a PC. I downloaded the compressed file from link provided Smirkingjacksrevenge, but ever time I go to run it I get Run time error - 339, anyone know why this may be?

Smirkingjacksrevenge, if I use a firing cylinder of 10 cubic inch with near future plans of shock pump pressure and use 12mm slingshot ammo will the 10 inch cylinder be overkill? Really wish I could get the program to work rather than keep questioning you :wink:

I will.tryy GGTD on another computer tomorrow and hope all is well, otherwise I don't know what's up and I wonder if someone would be willing to Zip up their working program and email it to me?? I know its a big ask but I really want to try out various factors for myself to try and obtain a decent predicted performance frommy gun specs.

Just another quicky with a 12mm/~just under 0.5" with about 250psi on hand using steel BBs how much difference would a 60" long barrel compared to say a 72" barrel compare would it alter performance much all other factors being optimal?

Did you try right click and "Run as administrator"? That seems to work for most people.

What operating system and version is running on that computer? A file isn't registering correctly or at all. Sometimes you can re-authintacate your operating system and that registors those files not registered. That worked for me, I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate.
Did you try right click and "Run as administrator"? That seems to work for most people


That's a permissions issue, not file registry.

I've heard from a couple of different computer guys running programs "as administrator" is a bad practice, some how it leaves your computer open to attack, I don't know but PCGUY could probably shed some better light on the subject, (he's not called PCGUY for nothing :wink: ) .

Just finished making my secondary air tank using 15 and 22mm soldered fittiings, its not particularly pretty, but that can be worked on. I am using this build as experience for building my 12mm caliber gun using a decent true 3/4" QEV. Eventually it will be all brush finish with clearcoat over it to save it tarnishing/barrel rusting.

I have still got to solder drill out the original oneway vale and solder the fill valve into main cylinder connection, in the pictures there is a brass T it has 1/8th connections that I will use for the filler and pressure gauge.

The fitting into the main cylinder is only small and I don't feel like changing it at the moment, as you can see from the photo compared to the Schrader valve it is small, but I will drill it out as much as I dare.

Should I use large piping between the bottle and the slide valve, as I am sure one small restriction is less restrictive than a longer or more restrictions. I has really thought about this but where shall I put the filler/small brass T/(guage when I get one) I would also worry about the strength of using just such small fittings.

Any help, suggestions or ideas PLEASE :)

I seem to have the general layout, I have future plans for it but just want to ensure it works, a lot of it has been put together, just a few parts need PTFE tape and tightening. I don't want to fix the main cylinder as I am going to brush it about better and the clear coat to stop rust as it is only mild steel.

Currently loading will be just chuck a ball bearing in the barrel, I am going to try a magnet to hold in p!ace, otherwise when this doesn't work as I don't have the really strong magnets and am worried the barrel will soak up the magnetism, any one got an ideas, I have read about detents, are these basically set screws do they have flexible paddle type arrangments or do they use ball bearing s like some small catches do. Like this

Thanks for the help you have given me Smirkingjacksrevenge, I need to first try better fitting ammo, going to have a go at molding some lead bullets, It also seems I need to improve pressure, I think you said that cheap 'compressor' would be junk, it is, I think it would struggle with a balloon! So just working on ideas for improving pressure.

One I need to get either a scuba/paintball tank, I can't find a regulator to reduce the 3000psi down to 300psi ish, does anyone know of one?

My other plan was to use a hydraulic cylinder with a couple of one way valves, and attach to a small excavator and let that do the pumping by moving the arm. To pump up a gas big propane/butane cylinder.

Rather than casting your own bullets, try to find an aluminium or brass tube that fits exactly in the barrel.

Cut the tube into short lengths (for a 12mm barrel, around 40mm should be right) and screw a short bolt into the head. If you find a bolt with a maximum thread diameter just over the inner diameter of the tube, it should cut its own thread easily in soft metal.

A standard ninja tank regulator can be set at 450 psi. For 300 psi, go for the SLP: http://www.npfpaintballstore.co.uk/air- ... lator.html

Too complex when there are easier solutions around, getting a fridge compressor would be the simplest and cheapest solution.

Thanks for pointers and spoke to my dad and he says the hydraulic seals won't work well with air, I will look into those regulators,thanks
