Need barrel help

Hey guys,

I'm planning on designing a new airgun. My aim (no pun intended) is to make it quite accurate, I'm not too concerned about power. I'd like to make a group fit on a piece of A4 paper from 20 meters away, if that's reasonable. I'm planning on shooting .117 bb pellets. I was wondering if I need to get a rifled barrel to get decent accuracy or if I can get away with a smoothbore design.

Secondly, does anybody know a good source of piping that nicely fits a .177 bb pellet?

Thanks,

*SMOKEBOMB!*

Look below at the "Simlar Topics", there are 5 threads directly related to your questions. Also the "Spud Wiki", the button is at the top of the page.

I bought this for $89 and I'm going to use the .177 barrel for a vortex BB machine gun.

You can buy a broken BB gun at a yard sale for $1 and cannibalize the barrel.

If he's an American...yes.

In the Netherlands you need to be 18+..

I've tried to find 4.5mm ( .177) tubing here and failed.
It would be better to find a small diameter tube, brass or aluminium, and then find bb's or pellets to match.
4.4...4.5...5.0....5.5...6.35mm

Tubing sizes vary, as you will see when measuring different samples.
Just try and find one with one of the above inner diameters and then order the pellets.

another option would be to order a replacement barrel.

Look for Crosman or Gamo replacement parts.
