Schrader valve as pilot; better options?

Hi there,

I am desiging a new gun that has a chamber-fed QEV in it. I want the pilot part as compact as possible so I thought a schrader
vavlve would be good to use. However, I read around the forums a bit that using a schrader is very inefficient compared to other (?) valves.

tl;dr

Does anyone have recommendations for a pilot valve that is very small yet more efficient than a schrader valve?

P.S if you want I can upload some sketches

With a well made piston setup - ie tight fitting piston and minimum dead space - the size of the pilot is not that important. A QEV with its piston design represents such a set up.

This project used a schrader valve to pilot a 1" piston and it worked great.
