dumb diphragm question

Sorry this is a really dumb question and your probably going to tell me to look it up and i did and i didn't find anything so does a diaphragm need a spring behind it?

no, the pressure alone is enough to seal the diaphram against the barrel.

You only need a spring behind it if you're pressurizing the gun from the front of the diaphragm.

Use the spring because it keeps the Diafram in place

You don't need one. My coaxial works fine without one. I made the rubber circle a little bigger than the pipe so it fits with the edges curved back and friction holds it there.

yeah, first thing i do when modding a new valve is to take out the spring, you dont need it
