Pb gun with a regulator

Was thinking about making my pb gun have 2 reservoirs number 2 that I pump up to 120psi with it connected to a regulator that I will set to 25psi to fill up a smaller reservoir that will fire the gun. I am hoping i can use it to shoot like 3 paintballs with only one refill

What do you think???

Please give all of your opinions

It can and will work. (And has done for other people)

But I assume you know it won't be practical for actual paintballing.

You'll need to figure out a reload mechanism if you don't intend to muzzle load it each time though.

Sorry to be rude, but why wont it be pratical for paintballing. A mate and i both have got out guns (over and under style) that we do paintballing with, but we just need to be able to have more shots off the one fill up of air.

and Yes we just muzzel load. i am still looking for a simple breach loader

thanks

I could be wrong, but I don't think 25psi would get a paintball going very fast...

What about putting a big piece of pressure-rated 4" pipe with two end caps and proper fittings, in a backpack as a reservoir, at whatever pressure your compressor will produce, regulated down to say 50 psi or so? What do regular paint ball guns use?

If you're going to do this, you might as well add a breech-loading system with a clip. It's not that hard.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

You could use two, two-liter bottles don’t go above 100PSI and you should be fine.
As for a breach-loading mechanism use a repair bushing( or a reamed out coupler) to cover a hole in the pipe you just slide the bushing forward drop in a round then slide it back and fire.

The consept will work, but i think it is a wast of a perfectly good regulator. Use a regulator to regulate pressure of 1000 to 3000 psi to 150 ot 300. Then build that concept. That will be a major good gun. But ... instead of the "low" pressure chamber, immediatly attach the barrel to the valve, the valve to the regulator. Nice for a full automatic if you attach a magasine to the barrel.

Can you please give me a little bit more infomation on the reamed out coupler.

thanks

the coupler has a ridge inside, to prevent the tube to slide all the way trough it. Just file or cut away the ridge, so the tube can move freely trough the coupler.

do you ask us to tell you how to build a cannon by telling which parts to use ?

chill out chaps we were all noobs once

just buy a coupler (one of the bits that conect 2 bits of the same size pipe together) and cut out the little ridge inside that stops the pipe going all the way through so it can slide up and down ur pipe

Sweet thanks mate. Then how do i seal it so it wont leak around the coupler. if you know what i mean. when i shoot wont the air escape out the hole and if so how do i seal it.

thanks

Well if you do it right then you should not need seals, but if you’re like most of us you can’t ream it out within a millionth of an inch. So just use O-rings, look around you should be able to find a “how-to” on installing O-rings.

Ok. I'll be blunt. Your design is impractical because:

Proper paintball gun = lots of rounds a minute, pull the trigger and it goes bang.

Your design = muzzle loaded, and limited to a few rounds before a recharge.

You cannot use this versus a proper PB gun - you will get slaughtered. If that's fine with you then go ahead.

Joannaardway in paintball most people average 10-20 shots a game.
Not like he wants a machine gun (waste of ammuntion)
