im making a new cannon, a smaller one and i bought the fittings i need. i knew that they have to be nsf-pw so thats what i got. they are also sch-40 but on the lasco (brand) website it says not to use for compressed air. they dont have a pressure rating on them like my pipes do. these are ok to use right? i could get pictures too. thanks

They're fine. Every manufacturer puts not to be used with compressed air so that they can't be sued when dumb people make spud guns using DWV pipe and fittings. As long as you didn't get bell reducers you should be fine. Bell reducers will be fine if they say nsf-pw on them but are not near as sturdy as bushings. Bushings also make your design sleeker and much nicer looking.

Usually smaller stuff only comes in pressure rated. LASCO is sold a lot at Lowes, I'm guessing that where you got them.

They should be fine. Check for the NSF-pw label.

Really? The Lowes near me has almost no NSF-PW over 1.5''.

That is why we go to local plumbing stores, not lowes/home depot.

thanks for the replies
yea thats why i had to make a small one. lowes had nothing over 1 1/2'' in nsf-pw fittings. actualy i got an e-mail back from a guy at lasco and he said i shouldn't use it for compressed air but tests have shown that the fittings, will sustain the pressures in table 1 even though it was ment to be just pipe.

by the way my cannon will be done in about 2 days. dont expect much, its just a 1 1/2in chamber, 1in ball valve and a 3/4in barrel. soon i will have a 1/2in barrel too just got to got get 2 more fittings
