If you need to ask how to build a chamber, then this is not a hobby for you. End of story. Go find something else that can be accomplished by someone such as you.

Gee uhm I guess a chammber that holds air, and and maybe it would be nice if you had a shrader valve in it, and and maybe it should be a chammber, and maybe it would be helpful if the chammber was airtight

Schrader valve > cap > length of PVC > coupling > reducing bushing > male adapter.

Okay, I guess I'll be a bit nicer. The basic point behind a pneumatic gun is to play around with pvc parts till you have a design that appeals to you. All you need is.......

#1 an air chamber. Even small air chambers will support a long barrel. 150 cubic inches (1' of 4" pipe) will support up to a 12' barrel

#2 a valve. Valves vary between burst disks, butterfly valves, ball valves, diaphrahms, sprinklers, and pistons. Burst disks are the best but a pain in the buttocks. Ball valves are simple but slow and weak. Try to match your barrel size with your valve. Check the spudwiki at the top of the page for more info.

#3 a barrel, very simple device. If you want more info on breach loading and/or semi auto designs then go to the spudwiki again. Also, if you're firing potatos then sharpen the end for a "potato cutter."

#4 hahaha, I almost forgot. You also need a fill valve. Either A, get a schrader valve, B get a 1/4" ball valve and a silver male quick connect piece, or C, get just the quick connect piece. The best option would probably be B because you can hook it directly to your compressor(I'm supposing you have one) and stop any air leaks with the ball valve. If you use a shrader you get the privelage of holding the pump/compressor on the whole time. C is definately the worst because you have to be connected to the compressor the whole time.

Okay, one last edit to this post here. You need to remember to buy parts that say either a pressure rating or nsf-pw on them. Do not buy nsf-WV or ABS pipe. Also, do not buy bell reducers, use reducing bushings. Bell reducers aren't pressure rated and don't really look as nice as bushings anyway. You'd be much better off with a bushing for the same price.

Are you so special you don't need to research or something? People come on here,there first post and they post a awesome spudgun. You know how they do such a thing? Well i'll tell you...... The bloody use the search button and research. They think to themselves....What do I want to achieve from this gun? What am I going to shoot? How big? How small? What do I want to shoot at? What valve do I want to use? Do I want it quiet or loud?................Just sit down and think to yourself. Before I posted on these forums I went through EVERY cannon that had been posted in the officals/showcase at that time. Yes every cannon. Took me a few days as school was on but I got through it. I learnt more by reading not posting, I found out all the designs and concepts out there and wanted to make something different. Not a common design 10 people have made. I wanted to make my own. So I could say...."I made this by myself, I thought of the design, I didn't get a bunch of people to make one for me"(No offence guys just an example )

Make it your own. It feels alot better once you have finished building it.

And I don't know why but I find building more fun then shooting. I mean shooting is a blast(no pun intended) its really fun but once you've shot it enough and you just keep shooting through everything it gets boring. In building I like the challenges, the time it takes, the grinding/sanding/cutting/gluing/priming/wiring/screwing and the thought of making something out of nothing.

Well... there's these things called threads, they screw into the gun.

Right. Until you know what you doing I wouldn't trust you with a Peanut butter jar some matches and a pen. You seem to cancel yourself out all the time. If you look at say 3 random guns posted in the showcase section that have good pictures you'll find out what you need and how you need to attach everything just from those 3 topics. I went through all of them like I said before and then information I got from them was over-welming. Just spend some time researching. You don't get everything to spudguns straight away it takes a little time.
