Need help

I need to make a simple, semi automatic pneumatic t-shirt launcher. Not something too complicated 'cause I have a budget, just not exactly sure on how much. I want it to be able to shoot off maybe 5 (is that a high amount?) or more t-shirts on a single fill up. I have an air compressor, so if we could figure a way on how to use that instead of having to buy something special that'd be great.

How far do you need to shoot them? How big is your compressor, and how big is your budget (yes I know that you said you don't know but it would be very helpful to know)?

The hardest part would be finding a way to shoot soft irregularly shaped objects, like t-shirts semi-automaticaly. It would be easier to build and cheaper if you just went for a bolt type loading mechanism instead. Beyond that I do not know without more details.

what material did you have in mind....i guess that depends on the budget?

I would assume about 500 to 600 dollars.

and maybe 100 to 200 feet, but can't you change the psi to what you need it for distance? If I can get a semi automatic pneumatic cannon blueprints, with a barrel of about 2.5" then I'll mess around with the psi.

unfortunetly your not going find plans for a semi.Try this style with preloaded catridges.May require a little imagination on your part to adapt it.

Try and find a way to make it like a nerf gun. Where you put the into the line holder and just move it up.

You could build a good one for probably around $70 to $120. 5 tshirts seems like a lot. I would make a breech loader with a piston valve (or sprinkler valve or qev) which can be filled and actuated by a sleeve valve. That would be the easiest way to make a semi auto.[/quote]

well, any pre made how to's, or parts lists, or anything? I really hate to just wing it on this. It HAS to be semi auto.

It's really not all that tricky. I'm pretty sure I winged every design I've made. Just go to a plumbing shop, make sure there's a wide open space beneath all the pvc fittings and just lay them all out. If you still don't feel like it, post something, and i'll make a how to.

Yes, please make a how to. But remember, it HAS to be semi automatic, with at least 5 shirts off of one fill.

K wait. You're going to have to muzzle load 5 tshirts down the barrel. Is that OK? and about how big are the tshirts in diameter

on the barrel, you could have a tee with a piece of pipe running out ( verticly) and have that filled with tee-shirts. the shirts would have to be in abag or tightly wraped. you could have a piston push them down with a spring and use a QEV for firing. 3/4 inch would easly get you the range you want. If you want it to be porable, make th chamber out of 6'' pipe and have it be a couple feet long and carry he tank on your back.

No, I have no problem putting one in it, then shooting, then stuffing another down it. I'd say they're about 2 to 2.5" in diameter, but a tight fit is good.

can you carry the air compressor out to where your shooting or can you only take the gun?

I can take the air compressor, I'll probably have one at where it's going to be fired. This is all for my church, they wanted me to make one for their teen program, so I said ok, they gave me a max of 600 dollars, if anything's left I can get a decent air compressor and keep it there.

it needs to have a psi gauge, so I don't blow up the chamber. and hopefully a way I can change how much psi is used per shot, so I can adjust how far it goes.
