Well I finally crossed over to the dark side of pneumatic launchers. I have built a few combustions but didn't even know about air cannons until finding this site. I decided to make a tennis ball launcher in an over-under config. The chamber consists of 12" of 3" Pipe. The barrel is 18"s of 2.5" Sch40. Due to the barrel and chamber being so close I had to use a couple elbows and nipples to get the blowgun where I wanted it.

Did you paint it that flat grey or did the pipe come that way?

I painted everything myself. Still need to go back and paint the the brass parts to black and paint the exposed nipples as well. Then I think it will pretty much the way I want it.

That's nice, I like that flat grey. You should stensil-spray some random numbers, letters and dashes on it like a serial number. But that's just my opinion.

Well actually I have a design im planning on using atm. Printed it out, laminated the paper, and using an arts and craft scapel, im cutting away all that I want to show. I'm just gonna wrap it around the chamber and tape it on the back then spray the design on, then remove the lamination. Hope it will work out the way I want it to.

Sounds like it ought to work. All these monster cannons lately, I need to set up an account (cookie jar) just to put money in to build a beast someday.

Yeah I got lucky, I have a HUGE plumbing supply store right across from my house. So that makes this hobby rather convenient. I've only tested it up 40PSI so far. (Just finished it last night so I don't want to put to0 much strain on the new solvent welding) But in the test it fired between 50 and 70 yards. Was VERY quiet suprisingly. Im so use to combustion cannons leaving ringing in your ears, I was quite suprised by this one. Hope to get higher psi test fires tomorrow.

Quiet, that could be very useful for me. I called the people at the lake I tested my combustion at before I did it, and they didn't seem too thrilled about it, like it might be against the rules or something, haha. But I did it anyway. The first shot was about equivalent in volume to a 12-guage. I finished off the bag of potatoes and high-tailed it out oif there.

I like the use of the brass but just a suggestion ot help you...

Run a hose from the Sprinkler valve to the handle and attach the Bluwgun to the handle. It may things more one handed and less awkward. You will need a short peive of high pressure hose. Maybe that Plumbing Supply store.

I must agree very nice!Love that off set blow gun and were the handle is placed,I'm guessing its used like some type of LAW or RPG shooting style.

Small guns with large bored a very fun.
