Hey
I brought a sprinkler valve from Bunnings(In Australia) and i havn't modded it but i have seen guns and stuff without them modded and i perfer the electric trigger system.
Anyway, i put it on the gun and it works, but it only shoots below 40psi, the valve itself is rated at 12 bar(170ish psi i think). Anything above about 40psi nothing happens, but i do hear a quit hissing inside the valve, but when i let go of the trigger, the sound dissapears. I then washed the valve and still nothing happens. Any sugestions at what i should do?

The air is probably leaking out of the place it's supposed to, but not fast enough to pilot the valve.
Solution:
Mod it, the air on top of the diaphragm will dump faster and the valve will work.

Oh ok thanks, is it possible to instead of drilling the hole in the valve, use the screw place where the soleniod was? or will that still make the same problem? Also, will i need pressure rated pipe between the sprinkler valve and the blowgun?

Normally you use something like vinyl tubing between the sprinkler valve and blow gun.

No, if you still want electric triggering then you just need more voltage try wiring two or three 9v's in series (24 volts or 36 volts) Just wire positive to negative and connect the other two to the valve. Ussualy they will not open because of to much pressure

I already have used 3 9V batteries, ill try using a few more. Ok, i meant must the vinvyl tubing be pressure rated?

You can attach the blowgun through the solenoid port, but drill it out for maximum flow. You can attach the blowgun with a brass nipple or a short piece of pressure rated hose.

Ok thanks everyone for the quick and usefull info.

Well if you already used three than you shouldent use any more or you might blow the solenoid. Are you shure you wired them in series, because that could easily be your problom

Turbohacker, i think you misunderstand the problem, they are wired in series, i know this from my knowleadge of electrical cirtcuits and because the multimeter reads it is about 27V.
The problem is that it is not releasing above 40psi, I just modded the valve and will see how it works soon. Ill post how it works here.

weird the valve should have worked electricly. no bug deal realy because its an improvement anyways
