i want to put a 6 inch piece of 2 inch pvc over the end ofmy 1 1/2 inch pvc barrel so i can fit bigger things in it, but if u shoot something out of the end of the barrel instead of shooting it packed in way at the bottom will it blow the barrel? once i packed a spud at the very end of my combustion barrel about 5 inches down and it blew apart, will it happen with an air cannon too?

WTF?? are you saying that if you have to much dead space between the valve and projectile the barrel will blow up??

it did with my combustion gun, only packed a spud 5 inches down a 5ft barrel and the end of the barrel blew apart, so im wondering if the same would happen with an air one

I have a 2" barrel that attaches to my 1.5" barrel so I can shoot off my used primer/cement cans when I finish them or they dry out.

It works fine and I can shoot them across my yard and over the fence into "not my property."

Your performance will be drastically reduced due to all the dead space. You might as well just make interchangable barrels. That would be a much more efficient option than just gluing more pipe to your barrel.

Plus it's kind of unwieldily, at least when I attach the extra barrel.

what projectile did you use that blew up your barrel?

Let me put it this way, either I am confused again and have gone into the discussion forum or this is in the wrong place. Mate its safe as stated above. A projectile is a projectile and it will move when gases expand. And mate try and post this stuff in the proper forum.

"Mate" this is the proper forum, all talk about air cannons...

This is the showcase... this thread should go in discussion.

And yeah, the performance would be terrible. Just make interchangeable barrels. If I spud managed to blow up your barrel, something is probably wrong.

uh do you know what blow up means... blow up whould be for a solider shooting rifle grenades with a live bullet rather than a blank

if you mean will it fly off if i try attaching it by friction and not glue it properly, than yes
will it blow up if i put acetone peroxide or contact explosive in yes
will it blow up if i put an alkline metal in the big barrel and water in the small one yes
is this a stupid mod cause the huge dead space compared to having inerchangable barrels yes

if you didn't glue the barrel bolt it or didn't have some way other to conect it, then I have to say you a dum dum
