I saw something similar to this at a local auto zone.
Rigged up to a 12 Volt power source, this could be a better way of filling your pneumatic on the go than a bike pump.
Take note of the 300 PSI rating.
I'm sure it's about a slow as a bike pump, but its less strenuous and allows you to reach higher pressures.
Do you guys think it would work well?

It will wear down really fast. Just use CO2 if you need portable. It's much better than a portable compressor.

besides, would you buy anything whose brand name was "slime"?
unless you wanted to purchase goo, of course.

I think slime is a tire brand because the have goo in them that fills up holes.

I could see use in a small gun such as Jacks pen gun/then again a shock pump is portable enough/rmich732 wrote:Nope...
1) Very slow.
2) It is not meant for this type of application, and therefore would start smoking and eventually fail.

Not only that but I doubt it would have the capacity to go up to the high pressures that minis require for decent performance, so yeah, you're better off with a shock pump anyway.frankrede wrote:I could see use in a small gun such as Jacks pen gun/then again a shock pump is portable enough

When I was searching for a way to fill my cannon on the go I was looking at one of these http://www.qindustries.net/products/hv_50.htm It's a little more heavy duty and yet still small enough to carry. But in the end I decided to go CO2 it just easier and faster.

The thing with any of these type of compressors is a reliable power source. They wear down car batteries fast. Slime is a tire sealant, i use it all the time on slow leaking tires, riding mowers/quads/auto's. The particular compressor in the Slime kit your showing is really just a one time emergence use, it wont last much more then 30 minutes of use, as soon as they heat up they are on the way out.
Me, i have a 12v compressor out of a mid 90's motor home designed for air ride shocks, so it's tougher then nails and can take a lot of heat. Still the same problem, a reliable power source, i think i'm going to run three car batteries run in parallel. I hoping to get about 40 to 50 shots out of them.

well if theres an outlet nearby get a computer psu, cut the yellow wire and one of the black wires and connect them to the compressor's power input. i did this with an old aluminum car compressor form what looks like the 70s the thing hasn't failed me yet. brought it to my friends house in maine (way up in maine) used it to fill my big mock up AT4 pneumatic, took a while but it was a hell of alot easier then pumping

Could you use the small compressed air cylinders that are sold w/ bike kits for inflating a bike tire while on the road. Its a one time use, but I think it work, you would just need to stock up on them.
