Breech Slider

I can't get my breech slider to seal. I have 15mm pipe and a 20mm slide. I can't use orings as they are too big and just make it almost impossible to slide.

By slide I mean something like this. http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/my-firs ... t5887.html

Anyone know how to get a good seal? There is like 2mm Space between the barrel and the 20mm slide piece.

I dont think tape would hold off 100PSI. Unless you have some super tape?

bullsh!t if its only for a breech its a short burst of pressure, now i have used electrical take and o-ring grease to seal my breech, although mine is a rotating breech, that might change some things.

but it seals at 260-300 and im sure it would hold more for it is only a short discharge of air.

Fair enough. Do you just put the tape on either side of the breech hole on the barrel then slap some grease on and slide your cover on?

i just wrap tape over the breech hole until its snug then drill away the tape over the hole, *(actualy i cut an X into the tape over the hole and doing this eliminates the need for wadding with marbles

I used to make bottle rockets. I wrapped a pipe in duct tape until it would fit tightly inside the bottle neck. Many times the bottle rocket wouldn't go off because the duct tape sealed too good, even at 120psi. So i just unwrapped it a little until it would release under pressure. And I never had to replace the tape.

Yeah tape should work great if its ony for the breech! It doesnt really matter if a little bit of air leaks during the shot anyways. It certainly wont be much!

Try using a small piece of shd 80, and bore it out to the appropriate size for an optimum fit. :D
