I am building a gun thaat reqiures that the chamer is inline with the barrel. I do not want a sprinkler valve because the gun is going to look realistic. Please tell me if this valve will work and if not how to make it work. This is my idea so far.

Have fun trying to seal something that's circular. Why not just make an inline diaphragm valve?

That will take way too much time to get right to make it even worth it.

The spring above the piston would need to be really strong to get it to move downwards with X amount of force exhorted on it by air pressure.

Just use a spring loaded ball valve to get the desired effect, as this would most likely not work without a machine shop and a lot of practise/patience.

Even if you could get it to seal, I'm guessing it would bind up and not move unless you had a huge spring. That would require more pressure in the pilot area, and it just wouldn't work well. If you had it pilot through where the barrel is, and change the piston around where it vents through the middle of the T, it would work.

Are there any valves that would work? I do not want to use a ball valve because I am trying to make it look realistic. I am building a m16 pneumatic spud gun. The main tube of the gun would be 1 inch pvc.

Noname, I searched but I was unable to find out how an inline diaphragm works. and I cannot use a regulare diaghpragm valve becuase I am trying to make it realistic. I would not get much power from the space between 1/2 inch and 1 inch pvc and the blow gun hose at the back would ruin the look of the gun.

Search the How-To's, I made one on them.
By a "regulare" diaphragm valve, do you mean a coaxial?
