well as some of you may or may not know ive been planing on building a portable gun. and since the first parts should get here on the 17th and then ill start building. so since the whole gun is revolving around the word portable i was wondering what would be the most portable design? ive been leaning towards an over an under. so whats yalls input?

the dimensions are as follows.

5 ft of sdr21 golf ball barrell
16.9" of 4" for the chamber
and a modded 2 inch sprinkler valve.

id say build an over under, then attach a bike pump to it for ultimate portability.

An over and under is one of the most portable designs, but coaxials take up less space. You can get cheap 1.5" SDR 21 at Tractor Supply Co.

make sure you turn down the regulator...my friend blew up the regulator on his ion when he first got it. he put like 300 psi into a 200 psi gun.

Cut the tank and half put them side by side then use a 2" tee to with 2 elbows to get the tanks connected to the valve then do over under.

Looks like this looking at the barrel.

( ) Barrel
( ) ( ) Chamber

2" sprinkler!! thats a very expensive valve especily when piston in tee valve is definetly better in all aspects because its over under

hmm i wonder who found that out

btw yes make an over under but why not make it a piston valve? cost alot less and it will be alot more powerful..

sdr 21 pipe would not be good in a coaxial.
Its thinwall and teh pressure would cause it to fail.

the 2 inch valve was free
the sdr is sleeved in sch 80.
and ive never made a piston valve before.

you cant blow up the reg., but you can blow up the solenoid in the gun. The reg is able to take 300 psi easy, jus that the solenoid in the gun isnt made able to take that much.

Well you have to make a piston sometime :P

I say if your staying with the sprinkler valve an over-under design using street elbows to cut down the gap between barrel and chamber.
