A few questions- (a new fuel?)

I was looking around wal-mart and saw something called 3-2-1 Dry. It's used to dry nail polish, fake nails, etc. It's three main ingrediants are:
Propane, Butane, Alcohol. Think it would work as a fuel?

My friend reccomends Carb starter fluid- think it will burst the gun?
What would you reccomend?

Also, are my stats ok?
Material is SCH-40 PVC
4'' Combustion chamber to 1.5" barrel... Volume ratios will be between .75:1 to 1.5:1... (interchangable barrels)
The first barrel will likely be for a 1:1 C:B Ratio- acceptable?
C:B ratio will be measured with water for accuracy.

Ignition- BBQ lighter attached to bolts in the rear of the chamber to place the gap in the rear-center

Thanks- This will be my first potato gun.

Oh one more thing- will tape (I was thinking heat-resistant foil tape or high-strength duct) keep pvc from shattering in as many splinters?

I'll probably do it anyway to keep sunlight from it (I heard it degrades PVC)

It would have to be really weak PVC to be shattered by a combustion but I suppose a few layers of tape couldn't hurt in the unlikely event of a failure.

sunlight degrades pvc very slowly like were talking years here (pretty sure its the UV rays) but the tape is still probably a good idea. i doubt it will stop the pvc shards (which are rarely a problem in a combustion) but it will help protect from UV
