can anyone explain to me how he wired his igniter internally entirely like it appears in this video(the simple one he uses first) Can the wires be safely contained entirely inside the cannon like his appear to be? Or do they have to be routed on the outsid eto the screws?? Id like to keep it all internal and set mine up like this one. Any advice , pix etc would be greatly appreciated

It doesn't really matter if the wiring is in or outside.
I even saw whole igniters inside chambers wich worked fine. This one is probably also like that?

Its just a BBQ piezo igniter wich probably even hasn't got any wirering since its already inside the chamber.
The spark jumps from the wire that comes out of the igniter to the butt of the igniter wich acts as other pole.

ok but...

so if it isnt wired, how is the bbq igniter installed or mounted?? is it epoxied or something?? what hols it in and is it safe to mount it inside like this??

I think you may need to get yourself a better translator program

What is your first language? There's probably someone here that speaks it who can give you some answers in your own language, rather than cluttering the forums with this gibberish.

So would I !

Mrmoose, you need to have a good look around the combustion showcase section of the forums here. In this section if you do some studing you will pick up on a lot of information that will help you understand the things you want to find out.

Welcome to Spudfiles. :D

jrrdw ftw!!

i tried this with a BBQ igniter with out anywires but the spark is inside and dose not work at all.

im thinking the two nails/screws is a better metherd and what was wrong with the way that guy speaks?? is there some thing im not getting?

:laughing3:

I come from a forum with a younger population. Im pretty sure both of these guys are just american kids. Translation programs dont translate to words that are spelled wrong.

lmao.

And mrmoose asked if it would be safe to mount an igniter in a hole in the side of the chamber. The hole would indeed have to be pretty big. He expressed confusion about where the spark would go without any wires.

METHERD; N; gathering of amphetamine crystals used to dilute mental capacity; i.e.: A Herd of meth (jk)

It only takes one ? to denote a question. Does ?? mean more of a question than just one? Or does it emphasis a more important question? Or just a ignorant question?

I would be amazed if this guy speaks any form of English as his first language (American is just a dialect). I also wonder if he went to school at all, since grammar and punctuation are obviously not cared about at all, especially when making fun of someone who obviously doesn't speak English as a first language. The spell check is for anyone to use, you might want to try it next time you post.[/rant]

Not all piezo electrics spark externally, some when not wired spark inside, or don't spark at all on their own do to a lack of O2/fuel inside the starter. The best method is to use gapped screws with leads on the outside of the chamber, but you can with the curved T used in the video, just wire the inside and use a side burner(or homemade) spark gap mounted(screw, epoxied, etc) on the inside, if the starter doesn't ignite on its own.

So if its wired at that method/metherd your gun would also be capable of producing amphetamine? :P Aaaaawesome :D Image

mrmoose:
You could just wire it with the screw method. (metherd :P) And have an external ignitor. This way the chance of leaks is the smallest.

My main concern is that this cannon is made with DWV fittings. someone tell me if i am mistaken.

It's a combustion, don't worry aboot the DWV

Anyways, he did mount the ignitor inside the chamber. It doesn't exactly need a massive hole, and it would barely need any wiring since the electrodes are already exposed to the combustion gasses. Mabye just a bit to modify it to create the electrode gap.

Yes, well, MrMoose, we don’t have time to deal with greenhorns that don’t feel they need to spell things properly… I’ve seen Chinglish that’s more legible than your typing.

Welcom to the Forums! :)
