Got really bored one day and decided to build a spud gun. I think it works pretty good for a first try. Barrel could be longer, but it still works pretty well. 1.5" barrel... 3-4" chamber. Aqua Net hairspray... Barbecue sparker. Nothing special but its great fun.

Whatcha think?

Wow, thats cool. Get a longer barrel, it'll improve performance.
Your lucky, if I fired my big cannon I'd probably get arrested (against the law in San Joaquin county..) lol
Good job.

PS: the hairspray will eventually "gum up" your chamber and make the cleanout cap hard to unscrew. Happy spudding!

Looks like you've got a consistent gun there. Thanks for sharing your video.

Take a look around the site. There's lots to see and absorb.

Welcome to Spudfiles....where all your dreams come true..... ...well not really, but welcome anyway.

Looks like it shoots well.
Quite a bit of duct tape though.
Probably killed the boredom that day.
What do you plan to build next? 8)

No worries about that here... in fact... the FBI agent up the street shoots his off his back porch

Deffinatly a consistant gun. It even makes pretty tight groups up too about 100yds. And whats next? A larger one of course

Good deal. Once spudding gets in your blood, it's hard to get it out. Maybe you could move to an advanced model, challenge yourself some.

What do you mean by 3-4" chamber?

Correct, the local stores didn't have a reducer to go strait from 4" to 1.5".

Good job. Switch to Gumout Carb & Choke Cleaner. It's cleaner, more powerful, and you get more shots per can since you only need a 1/3 second squirt into your chamber. Try it, you like it.

I, personally, just made the switch to propane and haven't looked back. :)

very nice, i would suggest looking into breach-loading guns or at least interchangeable barrels (or both) for your next gun, it makes things more fun. anyway, good for first gun :)

pretty good spud gun you got there.

also good with a new member that build guns rather than just talk about it. :)

welcome!

So you used a 4"-3" reducer? And then after that, you used a 3"-1 1/2" reducer?

I saw another video not saying not to use duct tape, so maybe I'd switch all the ductaped parts with electrical tape
Nonetheless, nice gun
