Combustoin Chamber Design Help

Hello,

I am new to this website, and the the advanced Spudgunnin' world. I understand the basic working of combustion guns, and was wondering about the chamber design for my first cannon. Would instead of having the traditional 2' of 4" and screw cap, rather have a bit less than 2' and a T-Joint in the middle. I was thinking of getting an adapter and attaching a ball valve to that, so I'd spray my hairspray into the valve, then close it, rather than a screw cap at the end. The reason why I'm thinking of this is because I already have a 3/4" ball valve from a Pneumatic gun I made, and it was 20$, and thought I should re-use it? I realized that spraying into the T joint might cause the hairspray just to turn to a liquid on top of the 4" tube, and there not igniting. Will that happen? Is a ball valve and T-Joint better, or should I go with the traditional screw cap at the end? Thanks in advance for any help!

Problem with that is that you can't spread the spray around the inside of the chamber so you would probably have alot of misfires.

A fan would make up for that.
You should defenitly get one in, since it boosts performance like nothing else.

I thought about that, but since I am new, there is still a couple of questions I have about fans

Where can I get one?
How do I install it?
Where do I put it?

Thanks

1) radio shack, old computer, anything that uses fan cooling.
2)it depends on the fit, on some you could just shove it in, on others you need to glue it.
3)anywhere, back would be easiest (depending on construction.)

My chamber is 4"
Wont the fan be damaged by the combustion, or is it supposed to be on the other side of a ball valve? :?

its in the chamber, combustion wont damage it, the heat last for a fraction of a second.

I wrote a brand new and very extended chamber fan page in the wiki last week:
Click for all your answers

Also note that it is apreciated by most members if you first search trough the wiki before asking questions wich answers can be found there.
