My Friend and I just built a mini spud gun. We were wondering if a plastic peanut butter jar is a good thing to use for a chamber.

well i gotta see the bottle and the treads on it, if it had lots of treads is verry good, and the plastic is strong enough.

How does more "treads" mean it's better? BTW it's not "treads" its "threads".

My mini spud gun's cap keeps flying off the back. Is there any way I can keep it on?

ok, sorry for my english. more threads means the cap wont blow off, eg: coke bottle. u can see my mini it has a coke bottle nozzle attached.

You might be okay, but to make sure it won't blow on you put it in a box and fire it a few times. If it shows any signs of stress, don't use it. I can't be sure it'll keep you safe to do that, but last night I made a really ghetto tissue box chamber, so...

The cap kept blowing of and the plastic wasn't very good, so we decided to trash it.

I used a bottle of Propel Fitness Water for the chamber on my mini and it works very good. If you have a lantern sparker for the ignition its very easy to put it in the cap.

k well i used a pill bottle with lots of threads on it so it SHOULD have worked but i was shooting it inside and it had been working but i shot it this time and the cap blew off backwards and hit this light fixture perfectly. my dad is going to be pissed i m screwed

i m going to try the coke bottle technique so hopefully it will work

If you use a Coke bottle you might want to try and find a larger barrel.

not sure if anyone answered you but it helps hold the cap on.
