i made a mini spud gun, horrible success of combustions though, maybe 1 in 30 click and different air ratios work :(

im using a cheap electric cigarette lighter ignitor, is this the problem. do cigarette lighters and b&q lighters differ in anyway?

Oh yeah. BBQ ignitors can produce as much as a .5" spark, whereas ciggarette lighter ignitors produce about a 1/4" spark. If it's reliability and longevity, a suggest a stun gun or other similar high voltage circuit.

I use BBQ igniters coz they are reliable and i can ajust the gap so you get a bigger spark and you can make a clean looking gun coz they screw into the chamber and your just left with a red button!! Heres a pic of what i use!

That design is sometimes considered unsafe due to the risk of the ignitor flying out, or it weakening the chamber. Now, if you had doubled up PVC and a big ass (fender) washer to spread the load on the inside, then it would probably be pretty safe.
I'm weird, I know it, you don't need to tell me.

Ive never had a problem with this way? I silicone the ignitor to the cap so its sealed!and there is a washer under the nut?

I don't think were intellectually lacking.

I'd say people who are intellectually lacking are the people who use dwv with pneumatics and get their ears blown out.

i bet you only like 4/5 of the people are not lacking intellect.

can we keep on topic please.

so even if the bbq lighter ignitor and electric lighter ignitor look the same, the bbq ignitor will always be more powerful?

also does the ignitor recharge itself? i noticed the more times i clicked the ignitor the seemingly weaker it got until the spark didnt jumo anymore(kept at the same distance)
