Hi, this is gonna be my first combustion cannon. I have build mini-combustions in the past but nothing this big. I have decided to build a airsoft mortar. I am going to use combustion because i dont have all the things to build a pneumatic. I was wondering how big the chamber should be if i used a 1.5" barrel that is 2.5 ft long.

Thanks

I would use about 8 inches of three inch pipe.

that is about 1:1 C:B.

but thats just me.

If you want to go quiet or, you plan on using a fan/propane, i would reccommend 5-6"of 3" pipe. This is the .8:1 C:B......

or darn near it

3" cleanout plug
3" female adapter
3" pipe (about 1 foot - 6" should be fine)
3" x 1 1/2" reducer
1 1/2" male adapter
1 1/2" female adapter

Cement it together from top to bottom on the list, back to front on the cannon.

If you get a 1 1/2" male adapter and a 1 1/2" female adapter you can make the barrel detachable.

i would suggest to make it more functionable you have a chamber fan and a 1.5" ball valve coming oput of the side so you can open it the smoke will blow out and and you can spary your deoderant or what ever in it. like this

hmmm..thats a good idea, i can try that but i dont have a chamber fan or a ball valve right now

edit: Also, can anyone help me design a nice bipod. I would like it to be made out of pvc or something like it. I was thinking of using a airsoft bipod and put a small ris rail on the bottom of the rail.

Welcome to spudfiles, try searching through the advanced search features before asking how to do it. When you see how other members build things you will get your own idea's and become a good builder in your own time, and be happier about it, and be self taught. There's only one better feeling that i know of! Hehehe.

well, i already searched, but i havent seen anything on how to make a bipod. Even though people have bipods, its hard to see cuz they dont have close up pics on it.
