i havent seen antthing like this so i thought i would share. well there is no way around it, bulky propane tanks atached to cannons look awful. i though what if your tank didnt have to be atached to the chamber what if it could be seperate. so this is what i got you put a valve stem some where on the chamber and then on your meter just add a air chuck Image so then you could just press it on to fill and set the tank aside. the only thing i can find worng with this is will propane mess up the rubber gaskets on the shrader valve?

propane is a cold gas eventully the gaskets will freeze and crack but only if liquid propane gets in the meter

Using a schrader valve on a metering stem has been done many of times. Boogieman of AdvancedSpuds has one displayed on his site.

The rubber gasket should be alright, the issue is if you don't get the tire valve on there fast, not allowing propane to escape, your mix will be off. While still allowing your propane cylinder to be separate, I might suggest a air coupler preceded by a ball valve.

This method works fine, I kind of use it on my hybrid. The hybrid has a seperate PVC chamber with a propane meter and schrader valve. I inject the right amount of propane into the PVC tank a few times, then add the correct amount of compressed air. I have a hose and tire chuck attached to the PVC tank, which is how I fuel the hybrid to any mix I want.

Noname, you don't have a problem with the initial leaking messing up your mixture?

What initial leaking? The chamber's sealed up perfectly.

No, the schrader - tire valve connection. For example when you fill a tire, a small amount will leak while the connection is made.

i thought of using this kind of setup, but the phenomenon pimpmann is describing made me not do it

Pimpmann, since the air and fuel are already at the perfect mix in the tank, if a little leaks out, it's no big deal. I'm not sure if you understand the fueling tank. It's kind of like a Gen II tank except you inject propane 5 or six times, then add the compressed air, like on a regular hybrid. Then I use a bunch of BBs which are inside the chamber to mix the fuel up even more, then use the tire chuck to hook it up to the ignition chamber. The propane meter is attached directly to the fuel tank by a 1/4" street elbow.
