Simple piston valve hybrid idea - did anyone do it?

Hi,

I thought of this hybrid:

Take a reinforced standard piston valve pneumatic. Add a thin pushrod through the end of the valve: It is pushed by the piston slamming the bumper.
At the other end of the rod, outside the valve, place a BBQ ignitor. Connect that to a spark plug in the chamber.

Get a large supply of replacement seals for the valve seat ... he he ... (design it to use O-rings).

Now, load the gun, pressurize it with an air-fuel mixture and fire.

Comments?

Hi,

Well either you are all stunned with my ingenuity, or is it my stupidity :?

it seems like the air/fuel would rush out before igition.
good thinking though

So basically ignite the mixture at the same time the valve opens.

This was the idea behind the very first gun I've seen that could be considered a hybrid. He filled a pneumatic with a combustible mixture, turned on a constant spark (stun gun) at the rear of the barrel, and then opened the valve.

Personally I think you would be better off letting the ignition trigger the valve like on current valved hybrids, but I don't really have anything to back that up.

i had thought of something like that before, only, my idea would be using a pop off valve on the piston tee, instead of the pilot valve so when you ignited the fuel air mixture the pressure would build up until the pop off valve popped
