Will this work? it will be around 50cm long

It should work, but add a lot of holes, you want as much fo the gas to be trapped in the supressor as possible.I'm not sure about the felt rings either they might get burnt to a crsip after a few shots.

Maybe even linear groves could be used along the copper pipe, see what some other members think and I might need ot build a silencer for my Hybrid.

Linear grooves don't tend to work as well as holes. Felt discs + hot gasses definitely smacks of a bad idea though. You could try wire mesh/steel wool as this will cool the gasses and reduce their pressure - you have to consider that like firearms, hybrids make noise by virtue of the heat of their propelling gasses, therefore anything you do to cool them reduces their volume and makes them quieter. One trick that's used with firearm silencers is to put a small amount of water inside the silencer, so called "firing wet", that can increase the effectiveness by about 20%.

You can have a play with different baffle shapes, have a look here for inspiration ;)

Make linear grooves..... twisted!!
Aka: rifled barrel effect :)

Ok just so i can prove gepard wrong hear.....SILENCERS DONT NEED HOLES ON THE FUCKING OUTSIDE DO THEY?

Nope. Ever seen a commercial silencer with external ports?

my point exactly, iff there was holes wouldent the report be louder?

It would indeed,as it would let the gasses escape not contain them so no holes in the external case.

Using something like a rough steel wool would be good, like used in some dish washing things for getting off tough scum.Don't use steel wool that is used for small projects as that would just oxidise very quickly and you would have a burning silencer.

don't make it 20" long is the solution. also another thing that you can do, which i have seen done before is to add on a piece of pipe to the very end of your pipe like this:

the "/" are baffles of some sort, bent inward to catch the air

...................................................|
...................................................|. \ .. \ .. \ .. \ .. \ .. \ . . \ .. \ .. \ .|
...................................................|__\__\__\__\__\__\__\__\__\|

this allows the projectile to fly through unhindered, while the air behind it gets caught in the baffles, greatly reducing the noise

please ignore the "."! spaces just get compressed in this stupid program...

Cotton wool + hot gasses -> bad idea.
lookin' good!
Ok just so I can prove gepard wrong here.....SILENCERS DON'T NEED HOLES ON THE freakin' OUTSIDE DO THEY?
No no no no no no no
oh mamma mia mamma mia...
, and the reason is simple. We want to reduce the pressure and velocity of the propelling gasses. A silencer does this by giving the gasses a chamber to expand and cool in before they leave the hole in the muzzle. If you put holes in the outside of the can, the gasses can escape to the armosphere nefore expanding, therefore more noise.
Be prepared for a significant decrease in performance if you bolt on a 20" long piece of pipe that is designed to cool (and provide an additional escape route for) the gases propelling the projectile.
Not necessarily, some silencers actually increase muzzle velocity - however in this case, where you still have barrel drag but are getting rid of the gasses, I expect a slight drop in performance.
this allows the projectile to fly through unhindered, while the air behind it gets caught in the baffles, greatly reducing the noise
This is great for spherical projectiles or a rifled barrel, however spudgun projectiles are often irregular and start to tumble the second they leave the muzzle, so unless you stick to marbles only a perforated barrel is your friend.

from my calculations, my optimim barrel length is 4.9m it is giong to be more like 3m so im guessing that the extra 30cm (12 inches) isnt going to much of a problem
