attention: this is a small gun i threw together to test the meter before i go full scale. but it is a fun little toy.

Chamber: two 1/2" hydraulic couplings

Barrel: something i took from a regulator

Mix: i have used 5x (first shot :D ) but i am going to 11x

Material, chamber: two 1/2" brass nipples and two 1/2" stainless couplings

Ignition: the good old camera cap dumped into a coil

Spark gap: 7mm but i think it takes the shorter way into the walls when it has 5x more resistance

Burst disk holder: i made it myself, works better than a union

i did not make this to turn out good or look pretty, as said the only reason i made it was to test the meter.

sorry for the mess on the pics, the cloth is there to hold Larda scratch free, and it is a good place to sit screwing fittings into eachother

DYI: you wasted your money. my gauge cost $20 and works after it got a 5x on it when i left the valve open

so do you guys have some feedback?

Edit: vid are in, no you can look at my mess :D

Nice and small!
Any vid coming up? I'd love to see that in action.

The reason your gauge probably didnt break was that it reacted too slow for the pressure peak.

Good job SpudFarm. And I didn't waste my money on the gauges. They allow me this wonderful thing called "repeatability" that your setup will never achieve :P

hehe yes they do if you tap them carefully it fires every time, (but sometimes i put in to much propane in there because of the size)

but all in all the meter came out more compact than i thought it would. now i need one more 1/4" nipple to change out the hose TEE to galvanized :)

after that i have to make the sparkstrip and i can shoot :D

it i had a 0.42 bar regulator it would have been easy to make a semi with another ignition.

this may be the gun i try my first piston valve on to.

Awww, it's so cute! lol

looks (and sounds) like a nice little "beanie-baby" killer
nice work. would love to see some buck shot in that thing.

And even though it is a mini hybrid you just threw together...you are missing one crucial element. Can you (or anybody) guess what it is?

cool little mini.
This has to be one of the smallest hybrids out there
Although if possible I would reccomend that you increase the size of the opening on the burst disk holder. Looks like flow might be a little constricted.

yeah if i put my air rifle barrel on it i just bore out the end a little bit.

it is so small that one layer of tape has problems to burst at 5x.
