According to HGDT, I've just broken the sound barrier with a 4 gram, 10mm, steel bearing in my hybrid The M480. HGDT says 400m/s but to be honest my mixes were running a bit rich for some odd reason (had it perfected a few months ago).

Anyway, just thought I'd express my joy, I've finally become a man :D

Wait, you didn't verify it for real? If thats the case I went supersonic as well with a golf ball at 3X a long time ago! Still cool anyways. Your gun sounds loud and powerful.

Well I don't have a chrony but I trust HDGT not to be 70m/s off, the parameters are pretty straight forward. Might buy a chrony soon though.

@JSR,
I'll take a raincheck :D

Well, when a man loves his spudgun, he and the spudgun get together...

Schaweet.

Note that you didn't get all caps or an exclamation point because you haven't yet purchased that chrony. ;)

That is pretty nice.

Just out of curiosity, did you use all steel fittings for the gun or are they galvanized iron?

@MR Crowley, Please post a screenshot of HGDT. I would like to see the parameters used. Thanks and Congrats. :D In theory I've done it with a marshmallow, but haven't clocked it.

Not with the cannon beasts of your creation  :D

BTW, I may be able to get hold of a 30mm or 40mm steel bearing, my next goal is the 2000 joules mark. :)

Maybe one of those chinese chrome balls for hand exercise,
only filled with lead (they come in different sizes).
Been dieing to see someone launch a trailer hitch ball,
smallest size is like 1 7/8" though, but they are diabolo shaped.

Awesome shot, (been waiting for a barreled vid).
Not much view of "The Garage",

Bring one over and shoot it yourself. :D It'll fit fine. I can find lots of space nearby and I have compressor, will travel. :D I don't have a trailer hitch at the moment. lost it somewhere.

Well my copper barrel had to lose 30cm today (long story) but luckily I found the same diameter pipe under my house and cut myself a nice 130cm long barrel.

I was also having trouble bursting 4 disks at 8x, so I decided to pump up one disk and see how high it would burst. Got up to 260PSI before it started leaking, no wonder I wasn't bursting 4 disks at an 8x mix.

So I tried another shot similar to the ones above with my new 130cm barrel and 600PSI+ bursting disk pressure, HGDT now says 527m/s

Video soon, nothing special though. This time it went through a metal muffin tray, the stainless steel pot lid and 3/4" MDF before stopping in a compacted towel.
